How has U.S. immigration policy changed through the years? Explain key changes and identify current policies?
Yes. First, people from England immigrated to the North American continent. Then, black people were shipped (immigrated) to be used as slaves. Eventually, Chinamen immigrated to help work on the railroads and to replace the african slaves. Later, Italians, Irish, Polish, Germans, and various other ethnicities immigrated in order to fill the job positions available. Later, Mexicans started immigrating to the US. If you are American, chances are your ethnicity is shared with European, African, Asian, every single ethnicity you could probably think of. How do you think white people got to North America? Before white people, there were only Native Americans here. Heck, before them, there were only woolly mammoths. So even Native Americans immigrated from Asia at some point.
