The volume of a pyramid can be evaluated by using the equation V Ah 3 1 = where h is the height of the pyramid and A is the area of the base of the pyramid. The problem is to design such a triangular pyramid where the volume is V = 72 cm3 and the height is h = 12 cm. The base of the pyramid is a rectangular isosceles triangle. a) Determine the area of the base of the pyramid. Pay attention to the unit of your answer. b) Draw a picture of the base triangle of the pyramid in a proper scale.
just one question, how can you have a rectangular isosceles triangle? It's either a recatangular base or a triangular one lol
that is where i am confused LOL but thats the question
Okay, if it's a rectangular base then the Area of the base = LW , so :\[V =Ah/3 \]\[A = (72)(3)/12 = 18cm^2\] Or, if the base was triangular: \[A = bh/2\] then: \[V = Ah/6\] \[A = (6)(72)/12 = 36 cm^2\] that's for part (a)
do you have options? for the answers?
no
>_< then write down both lol, I'm sorry. I've never heard of a rectangular isosceles triangle ._.
but for part a i got 18
same same , so I guess it's a rectangular base after all ^_^
ok, well i guess the person who prepared the exam was either drunk or really tired
maybe, rectangular is a trick in the question and the base is triangular after all. I agree. ^^"
why don't you ask google? lol
I'm telling you, there's no such thing as a rectangular triangle =_=
she doesnt know
it's either a square, rectangle or triangle. Google = she? ._. LOL!
<-_-> yes, ofcourse google is she <-_-> What did you think.
^^" Google = he? why did you announce google as FEMALE! >_>
males created it!
so? just because males created it does not mean anything, google is she, i kid you not
nope, it's a HE
