6f^-2g^3h^5 over 54f^-2g^-5h^3
are you trying to simplify it?
dividing monomials whatever that means
shania. check this site so u can learn more about the exponent properties: www.math.com/tables/algebra/exponents.htm
can you type it using the equation writer
6 f^-2 g^3 h^5 ------------------- 54 f^-2 g^-5 h^3
oh okay got it
(1/9) g^8 h^2 ??
if u notice the f's on the top and the bottom have the same number of exponents...so you can cancel them out
then 6 goes into 54 9 times so the 6 becomes 1 and the 54 becomes 9
yeah i noticed that i dont know all this is confusing lol i have a really bad algebra teacher he doesnt explain anything at all
when you post your questions; make sure you space adequately between terms at least... that way they are easier to decipher :)
ok lol
did u get the answer?
why do I thinkthat when you divid a variable like g/g ; they cancel out
the variable g doesnt cancel out
f does...since its the saem on the top and the bottom
but the g on the denominator is to the power of negative 5 so really it moves to the numerator...so the numerator becomes g^8
then since its h^5 on top and h^3 on bottom..its like having 5 h's on top and 3 h's on bottom so three of them cancel out...leaving you with h^2 on top
aweome fee back (no homo)
so you should get (g^8)(h^2)/9
i usully use decimal number like 0.11 instead of 1/9 , i got to get better wih frrctns
