OpenStudy (chels):

simplify this expression sec(x)cot(x)sin(2x)

myininaya (myininaya):

are we trying to show this equals something else?

OpenStudy (chels):

nope, just trying to simplify it using identities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Instead of sec(x) you can write 1/cos(x). Instead of cot(x), write cos(x)/sin(x). Instead of sin(2x), write 2*sin(x)*cos(x). Cancel like terms and out pops a clean new expression, that you will like. :)

myininaya (myininaya):

2cosx!

myininaya (myininaya):

thats not factorial by the way its an exclamation point

OpenStudy (chels):

oh thanks! i've got more too haha

OpenStudy (chels):

sin(2x)cos(5x) + cos(2x)sin(5x)

myininaya (myininaya):

oh mine thats shat sin(2x+5x)

myininaya (myininaya):

sin(7x)

myininaya (myininaya):

remember sin(x+y)=sinxcosy+sinycosx correct?

OpenStudy (chels):

oh, yes! i forgot that identity since it didn't look that way to begin with.

OpenStudy (chels):

where do i go once it's expanded?
