IS a hyberbola still a hyperbola if there is a line through it? it would look like )I(
it might be a hyperbola and another equation...
i just wanted to make sure that if i use something like that for a project i will get credit for using a hyberbola
hmm..... that would depend on whos grading the project..
so a strict teacher might not count it but others might?
thats correct...
what do you need a hyperbola for anyways? :)
i have to graph a picture using conics and im picking pac man. i was going to have 2 ghosts one upside down seperated by a wall
the 2 ghosts would be a good visual for a hyperbola; but if your going for an exacting replica....its a long shot :)
oh yeah i know that its also going to be on a graphing calculator and so isnt going to be to exact anyway
if nothing better comes to mind; id give it a try :)
alright but there is a possibiliy she would count it as a hyberbola and not twp parabolas? im not missing a key point to the definition of a hyperbola?
graphically; a hyperbola is defined according to the properties of it 2 focus points- cant recall the eact definition - but I know it differs in respect to a parabolas definition. But in essense, the hyperbola looks like 2 parabolas head to head.. look up on google the definition of hyperbola to be sure :)
alright well thanks
