This is a system of equations: F(x) = x^2 for x less than/equal to 0 ax + b for x > 0 the function above has an inverse function for which of the following values of a and b 1: a= -1, b= -2 2: a= -1. b= 2 3: a= 0, b= -1 4: a= 1. b= -2 5: a=1, b=2 help!

i think the function deos not have inverse function only for number 3 ( a= 0, b= -1) because if a = 0, the function for x>0 which is f(x) = ax+b will be f(x) = b that means the function f(x) will only have one value, which is b. in other words, if a = 0, there will be no x variable in that function, so the value of the function will be constant, so there will be no inverse function. so i think number 1,2,4,5 are right
