what is the formula to find the area of a rectangle?
How to find the area of a rectangle: * The area of a rectangle can be found by multiplying the base times the height. * If a rectangle has a base of length 6 inches and a height of 4 inches, its area is 6*4=24 square inches
so what if the width is included?
well for area then ignore it...
A = 2L + 2W

oh thank you
so if i have a length of 10 width 6 and height 5 i should do 2x10+2x6 which should equal 32 right?
Are you trying to solve the surface area of a solid rectangle?
im trying to find the lateral area of a rectangular solid
define lateral as opposed to total surface area.
well my math problem just says - find the lateral area of a rectangular solid with length 10 width 6 and height 5
I need to look up lateral???lol
its okay
NP I looked it up it relates to the sides. You have four sides so it is as someone else posted 2hw+2hw.
Excuse me, my bad change the last term to 2hl LA=2hw+2hl
In this case I think would be 2x5x6+2x5x10=60+100 = 160 sq units.
so 160 would be the area of the rectangle right
oh okay i just got thank you
