1/2 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/4 cup how can if figure out how many cups this is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the common denominator (12)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 3/12 cups?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets start with the 1/2 cup. find what you have to multiply 2 by to get 12 and multiply the top by that number also. then do the same thing with the others, but youll be multiplying by something different each time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6/12 + 4/12 + 3/12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, exactly

OpenStudy (anonymous):
