it gives me a right triangular prism with the height of 24 a length of 48 a width of 17 and a hypotenuse of 29.9. Find the surface area.

You know that your triangular prism has 5 faces. You need to calculate the area for each of these faces to get surface area. so you take and find the area of the two triangles (24)(17)(.5)
Since you have two faces that are the same triangle you can multiply it by 2
then you use the equation (L)(W) to find the area of the other faces
(17)(48)
(29.9)(48)
