wat is 6p =5 over8

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what do you believe the first step in solving this should be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You first have to, calculate what 5 over 8 is.. then you just divide it with 6.. and then you got what P is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[6p = 5/8\] first you remove the denominator, by multiplying everything by 8. \[8(6p) = 8(5/8)\] that gives you 48p = 5 and p = 5/48 .
