No, it doesn't. You get some explanation on how to make charts, but all GUI code is provided for you without explanation.

Beginning programming courses dont teach GUIs, its just unnecessary detail that gets in the way. GUIs are event-driven so the program workflow is conceptually different but not hard to learn. Get wxPython, and youll have your GUIs up and running in no time.
