Solve the quadratic inequality, and note end behavior. Give answer in simpified improper fractions. x^2-34<-x

OpenStudy (jayjay):

\[x^2-34\le-x\]

OpenStudy (jayjay):

The concave is up

OpenStudy (jayjay):

The instructor is looking for x\[\in\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just treat it like a normal quadratic, and the less than or equal like an equal. Get it <= 0, then use the quadratic formula to get your roots.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Once you have the roots you'll have something like \[ (x-a)(x-b) \le 0 \] Which will give you bounds on x of a and b.
