log square root5 36

OpenStudy (amistre64):

is sqrt(5) the base of the log?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

log sqrt(5) (36) = y means: sqrt(5)^y = 36 5^(1/2)^y = 36 5^(y/2) = 36 y/2 = log5(36) y = 2 log5(36) y = log5(36^2) y = log5(1296) thats the best I can do for now :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

change of base maybe? log(36) ---------- log(5^(1/2)) still comes up the same....
