Find the derivative. Simplify if possible. y = x^2arcsinh(6x)

OpenStudy (nowhereman):

read up the derivative of arcsinh, or use the rule for derivatives of inverse functions to calculate it. The rest should be easy. (For derivative of sinh you can use the definition through exponential functions)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sinh = [ e^x + e^-x ] / 2 right??

OpenStudy (nowhereman):

No, \[\sinh x = \frac{e^x - e^{-x}}{2}\] You can easily remember this because both sin and sinh are odd functions while cos and cosh are even functions.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ahhh..... yep, forgot that :) soooooo close
