how do i factor by grouping 2x^4-32x^2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't really need to group, just factor GCF and then use difference of squares

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hint, the GCF has a number and a power of x in it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be 2x^2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the gcf, now factor the remaining part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can factor out the 2 and \[x ^{2}\], and the equation becomes \[2x ^{2} (x ^{2} - 16)\]
