we are looking at exponential distribution in probability. I am told that T is memoryless in this situation (T is time) ... In the probability P(T>s+t)=P(T>s)... does anyone know what the s represents.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's conditional probability in which it is memoryless

OpenStudy (anonymous):

P(T>s+t|T>t)=P(T>s) s and t can be any #'s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the s has unit time aswell

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, if the random variable T is time units then yeah a different time

Thank you.
