the way I see it is the "yuck" on the right came from somewhere and thanks to your answer you know are going to be able to cancel out the d's & c's. They are going to stick together so you can factor them out. So to start (ac-ad-bc+bd)=(a-b)(c-d)

When you pull the bottom apart remember that (c-d) is something you are going to want to get rid of and start there.
