if you roll a pair of number cube, which of the following outcomes is as likely as a sum of 6? a. sum of 3 b. sum of 8 c. sum of 11 d. sum of 12

b

how i dont understand

OpenStudy (nowhereman):

For every number X on the cube there is the number 7-X too. So for the possibility where you get X + Y as outcome there is also the possibility that you get (7 - X) + (7 - Y) which would mean you have 14 - (X + Y). So there are exactly as many outcomes where you get 14 - 6 = 8 as there are that you get the sum 6.

ohh now i understand. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
