What is the first thing I should learn about computer programing?
Depends on what you want the computer to do. Learn program flow. The MIT video lecture series is very helpful to start. http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-00-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-fall-2008/video-lectures/
i think you need learn about algorithm...
learn a language and start coding, it's really the best way to learn
I start my students off with flowcharting. Understanding how computers work and how programs are designed is more important than learning any one programming language.
im new too,and i see lotsa diff places yall suggest as best start..i just watched 1st lecture,so,im torn:what next?wow-i need a study partner!
The basic terminology; strings, functions, method calls, classes... If you don't know the slang, you'll find it hard to read up on anything.
Learning and practicing proper documentation and commenting, while simple, is always key.
