(4x – 8) (x + 1) using the foil method

Alright to solve using the FOIL method , let's start from left to right, first multiply 4x to both x and 1 and you'll get :\[4x^2+4x\] now it's the turn of -8 to be multiplied by both the x and 1 and you'll get : -8x -8 now let's group them all up to one big happy family and you'll get : \[4x^2 +4x -8x -8 =0\] then we have : \[4x^2-4x-8=0\] and now, we have a big happy family ^_^, clearer?
