does the series x^.5 converged or diverge and why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one way is to find the limit as x -> infinity, so what's the limit of the function? you'll notice it goes to infinity too, so it diverges ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what if its is alternating (-1)^x * x^.5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it also diverges :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you just disregard the alternating part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you get 1 value as your answer , then it's convergence, but if it goes to infinity and you have more than one value as an answer then it's also diverging ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

converging*

Thanks a lot :) I <3 calc 2 haha
