i want to study database what can i do to start.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what type of database. Access, MySQL .... ?

OpenStudy (nowhereman):

Get a good book on DBS (database systems). For example: "Database Systems Concepts" by Korth and Silberschatz "Database Management Systems" by Ramakrishnan "Principles of Database Systems" by Ulman They should give you a good overview of the relational model e.g.

Nowhereman is right. You should really get a solid understanding of design concepts and principles first. I just started throwing databases together for data persistence and never took the time to understand the why of good design. I still regret that, I haven't gone back to figure it all out yet. =)

You should start by gettin a good database book, like "Principles of Database Systems" by ULMAN, thus I may recommend to start just scrolling around Access, is a basic database program :)

A good undestanding of Set Theory is essential in the study of Database. A good book I recommend is "Fundamentals of Database Systems" (4th Edition) by Remez Elmasri and Shamkant B. Navathe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The best way to start studying database is to study Microsoft Access first and then study SQL Server / Oracle for more.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

best is to use MS Access and Excel, its easy to understand RDBMS and SQL queries.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you want to plug data into a keyboard or learn database? If you want the former, any database will do e.g. access, sql, ... If you want the latter, learn set theory and read the book I recommended.

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

Install App Engine?

thanks you to all of you who has give me certain advice in one way or the other.
