what determines whether someone is a "student" in a subject.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Currently it's just if you've visited the study group while logged in. We're working on making that just a little more accurate by making it if you've chatted/asked a question/replied in a study group. When do you think you should be considered a student?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you should be considered a student if you write any 10 posts/answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree, because I have visited all of the groups at least once out of curiosity if nothing else.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Yeah, that's absolutely fair. I suspect we'll start by considering any posts/answers/chats as `student' (i.e., any participation), and tweak based on feedback.
