I need help. You are given four points in the place A=(5,5), B=(9,-2), C=(12,2) and D=(17,-2). The graph of the function f(x) consists of three line segments, AB, BC, and CD. Evaluate the integral f(5,17)f(x)dx by interpreting it in terms of signed area. Find it using high school geometry.

if I see it right, your just making a bunch of trapaziodal areas... its practice for the trapazoidal rule....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(1/2)(f(x0) + f(xn) +2(f(a)+f(b)+f(c))) I think is how it goes... something to do with (b-a)/n as well

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but thats the calculus stuff, they want you to see it with geomtry eyes :)
