What is http://retro.openstudy... and why does my browser warn me from logging in to the site? I am looking for an MIT 6.046 Algorithms study group.
it should NOT be warning you, because that site is safe. What browser are you using? I hope it is FireFox, Chrome, Safari or Opera. DONT EVER use Internet Explorer, trust me.
Thank you for the assurance. Perhaps my safety setting was too high, or the link I found through websearch was not a direct one. The message said that the security tag didn't match or something. Anyway, I found it.
We used to have parts of retro.openstudy.com under https, which means that a security certificate was required. We removed that when we switched the main openstudy.com site to this version, because the security certificate is for openstudy.com, not retro.openstudy.com. It sounds like Google sent you to an https page, which still `works', but will give you a security warning due to the mismatching certificate. As much as I hate IE, this isn't a browser problem, and any browser that *fails* to warn you about a situation like this is insecure. Fortunately, I don't know of any such browser :)
of couse it is not a browser prob... , I was just using an opportunity to get people away from IE :( sorry
Hahaha. No worries! I am always supportive of that goal! (Although apparently IE9 doesn't suck at all. Have yet to check that claim out myself.)
