A DVD player that normally cost $160 is on sale for 70% of its normal price. What is the sale price of the DVD player.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The sale price is 112 dollars.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take 160 and multiply by .7 that is the discount. Subtract that from 160 and thats the sale price

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tdabboud, no that's wrong. The sale price is 70% OF its normal price, not 70% OFF it's normal price.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to slow down and read thats 2 now, so it would be 30% discount so multiply by .30 then not .7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or just multiply by .7 and that is the sale price. No subtracting required.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah true
