Go to the following site and plug in the values for the base and edge. http://www.mathwords.com/r/right_square_prism.htm The prism page I looked at shows a long box with square ends. If the end plate of your box is a square, s by s, and the box is L long, then the surface area is the sum of the following: The area of the 2 squares is 2*s*s or 2s^2. The area the other four surfaces is 4* L*s. Total surface area is: \[A = 2s^2+4sL\]
