I have a question about the applications of integration to physics. lets say that you have an aquarium tank full of water (with a height of 2m), and you want to find out the amount of force needed to pump half of the water out, which limits of integration are you going to use? is it from 0m to 1m? or from 1m to 2m?

Would this depend on where you placed your x-axes on your diagram. Meaning did you place your x-axes at the top of the tank with positive numbers in the downward direction or at the bottom of the tank where the positive numbers are in the upward direction.
