synthetic division (4x^4-10x^3+19x+5 by x+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi baloo, did u copy the prob correctly? it seems its not correct...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

4x^4-10x^3+19x+5 by x+3; x = -3 ...strip the variables and go with it :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-3 | 4 -10 0 19 5 i included the 0 as a place holder 0 -12 66 -198 537 -------------------- 4 -22 66 -179 542

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats exactly what i got...a remainder of 542..lol...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

542 4x^3 -22x^2 +66x -179 + ------ x+3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x+3 aint a "solution" to a root, but it is do-able by division :)
