what is the range of the function y=2cos3x?

Range means the all the y values, so the 3x has nothing to do with range. The 2 in front means that no matter the value of cos3x, it is multiplied by 2. The max Y value of cos is usually 1 so 2 multiplied by 2 is 2. And as dichalao just said its both plus and minus
