find the exact value of the logarithmic expression log2^32

OpenStudy (nowhereman):

Do you mean base 2 or base e ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess its base 10

OpenStudy (amistre64):

base 10 would be the assumption.. log usually mens base 10 ln refers to base "e"

OpenStudy (amistre64):

of course it could be written here to mean log2(32)

OpenStudy (nowhereman):

Yes, otherwise the only thing I can say is \[\log_{10} 2^{32} = 32 \log_{10} 2 \approx 9.6\]

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

more likely its as amistre says log base 2 of 32 which can be rewritten as 2^x = 32 x=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im thinking base 2 @nowhereman so would it be 5 or 9.6?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

\[\log_{2}32 = \log_{2}2^{5}=5 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u
