How do you prove that W = U xor V means that U and V = {0} such that U and V are subspaces of a vector space W?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

xor ?? an xor condition gives 0 if both U & V are either 1 or both are 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does this help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right but i am lost about how that applies to subspaces of vector spaces.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm...thats a theorem @air
