To complete a construction job,a contractor needs 145 more cubic yards of concrete. If there remains a conical pile of concrete mix measuring 36 ft in diameter and 12 feet high, is there enough concrete still on the job site to finish the job? explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

calculate (1/3)pi*r^2 * h = (1/3)(pi(18)^2(12)). This gives you the volume in cubic feet. Then divide by 3 again to get cubic yards. If the answer is greater than what is needed, then you have enough.
