what are the differences between finite bar element and a truss element? {xcept element stiffness matrix}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a truss element disperses stresses differently throughout it. A finite bar element takes stress on directly, and gives in sooner as a result. At a point on a truss, the force applied to it is dispersed in two directions and continually throughout the truss, and can hold more weight because of that.
