Whenever you see something like this, you have to
(1) try and factor the polynomials
(2) take out any common factors in factors

Here,\[\frac{3x+6}{x^2+3x+2} \times \frac{x-1}{2x+8}=\frac{3(x+2)}{(x+2)(x+1)}\times \frac{x-1}{2(x+4)}\]In the first part, you have a common factor of (x+2) in the numerator and denominator. These will divide to 1 (i.e. they cancel), so you're left with\[\frac{3}{x+1}\times \frac{x-1}{2(x+4)}=\frac{3(x-1)}{2(x+1)(x+4)}\]
