prove that the segment joining the midpoints of the diags. of a trapezoid is parallel to the bases and has a length equal to half the difference of the lengths of the bases.

i get the parallel thing, i don't get the how the length = half the difference of the bases. i keep getting half the SUM of the bases... and this is coordinate geom. btw like trap. vertices are (a,0), (0,0), (d,c), and (b,c)
