need help finding the domain!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g(x)=\[\sqrt[5]{-5x+9.6}\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

domain should be all Real numbers

OpenStudy (amistre64):

5root(x) has no limitations since it is an odd radical.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An odd degree root allows you to have anything under the radical.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks! What exactly does that mean I do next? Excuse my lack of understanding with this, but I missed class for this section. So it could be helpful if someone could help walk me through it! :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3root(-8) = -2 4root(-16) is undefined..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if your looking for interval notation: Domain: (-inf,inf)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

other notation would be: Domain: {x|x is an element of R}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I am looking for interval notation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is inf?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[domian: (- \infty , \infty )\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

infinity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh ok. So that would be the answer to this problem? I never know what exactly needs to be done with the numbers, but I noticed this was a common answer for some

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yep.... that would be the answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually, this is an online assignment and I just realized that I had put that answer and it told me that was the wrong format.. So they must be looking for another kind of answer. (it says to round any decimal values to two decimals.. so it could possibly be a number answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe it's because I didn't do the parenthesis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, that was it. Thanks again!
