The side of a square is 4 cm shorter than the side of a second square.if the sum of their areas is 106 square centementers,find the length of one side of the larger square.

okay area of a square is x squared the other box is 4cm shorter then (x-4)(x-4)+(x^2)=106
OpenStudy (anonymous):
since it said the sum of THEIR areas is 106 that is why i added them and don't forget that a square has equal sides
