When solving an equality such as: y>x^2-1 I want to move the y to the right side, and the -1 to the left side. I know I have to change the sign when I swap answers, but do I have to do it twice since I am moving 2 parts of the equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get y+1>x^2 then sqrt(y+1)>x no need to move y or change the equality You only change the equality if you multiply the whole thing by a negative

think about it in terms of numbers 9>3^2 -1 10 > 3^2 sqrt (10)>3
