Evaluate i ^ 502

OpenStudy (amistre64):

clock addition really: so: here we go... 502/4 = 125.5 you circle around 125 and 2/4 times....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i = sqrt(-1) i^2 = -1 i^3 = -sqrt(-1) i^4 = 1

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i^502 = -1 is my guess ;)

Thats what I thought simply because i^2 = -1 and 502 is an even number but I wasnt sure....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

4 is also an even number.... so dont let that logic mess you up. Every 4 times it repeates itself like going around the face of a clock....but with only 4 hours :) Every 4 hours is a repeat; 502 divided by 4 = 125 with a remainder of 2..... i^(2)

Ok, thank you!
