how do you slove 4a^4-5a^2+1=0

solve for a subsituted variable really; claim that x=a^2 and x^2 = a^4 then solve for x...

4x^2 -5x +1 = 0

(x-1/4)(x-4/4)

x = 1/4 and x = 1

1/4 = a^2

+-sqrt(1/4) = a

+- 1/2 = a
