Sean has a rectangular prism fish tank which holds 46.5 liters of water when filled to the top. If the base of the tank is 50 cm by 25 cm: what is the height of the tank?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

volume = area of base * height First we must convert volume from liters to cm^3. 1mL = 1cm^3 -> 46.5L = 46500 mL = 46500 cm^3 -> 46500 = (50)*(25)*h solve for h by dividing (50*25) on both sides -> h = 37.2
