Given your understanding of the hierarchy of organization, why is it necessary to learn about chemistry as we study biology? In your answer specifically describe how the knowledge of chemistry can help you understand the process of digestion
living organisms have levels of chemical formulas such as zinc, h2o, etc....ex:plants produce oxygen and eat up carbon dioxide.
A knowledge of chemistry is definitely necessary to study biology. For example, during chemical digestion in your stomach, enzymes such as pepsin or hydrochloric acid break down food. They work in very acidic environments, with a very low pH balance. To know about pH levels, acids, and bases, you study chemistry.
Well to understand digestion you need to know what kind of molecules you are consuming and how your body catalyzes the reactions to produce new molecules that you can use either in cell growth or in cellular respiration. For example, how fats/lipids are converted to glucose and then ATP to be used in pretty much any function that that body does.
because tp understand undergoing chemical rexns in our body chemical reaction for example formation of non living to living example food, water(non living) to protoplasm(living) or respiration(catabolism)
