can anyone help me with solving problems using quadratic functions? & if your gonna be rude like the person was yesterday when i didn't respond back because i wasn't on, don't bother. thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes...tell me:) i will try till im online:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks! (: i'm gonna get the first question. there is only 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the company discovered that it costs $45 to produce 2 calculators, $134 to produce 4 calculators, and $869 to produce 10 calculators. Using quadratic functions, find the cost to produce 7 calculators.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

say x=calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm...is it like 2x=45 , 4x = 134 & 869=10x & they want u to find 7x =??? right??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. they want the cost of producing 7 calculators.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly, then 157.5 is the answer...i.e x=157.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean cost is 157.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

next question: The company discovered that it costs $30 to produce 2 widgets, $118 to produce 4 widgets, and $766 to produce 10 widgets. Using quadratic functions, find the cost of producing 6 widgets.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can take widget =x and try like, 30x=2 => x=30/2 =>x=15.....so on...u get the answer for 6 widgets too like 6x=? which is 6*15=90 which is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u got such problems, then probably u can try:):) & i hope u get correct answers :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did this explaination help u?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well that was the wrong answer.
