Solve the following system of equations. 3x + 2y - 5 = 0 x = y + 10 Make sure there are NO SPACES in your answer. Include a comma in your answer.

apparently you are submitting your answer to a website that tried to "check" your work and spaces throw it for a loop ... :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

since x = y+10; all you have to do is substitute that "value" for x in the other equation like this: 3(y+10) +2y -5 = 0 ; solve for y. when you get a "solid" answer for y you can figure out a "solid" answer for x in the bottom equation.
