x+7/3+2/15=3/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so first add 7/3 and 2/15 together to do that you have to find a common deominator which is 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7/3=35/15 35/15+2/15=37/15 your problem should now look like this: x+37/15=3/8 now you have to find a common denominator for 3/8 and 37/15 so that you can do subtraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

our common denominator will be 120 37/15=296/120 3/8=45/120 your problem now looks like this: x+296/120=45/120 subtract 296/120 from both sides x=-251/120

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This can be simplified to -2 (11/120)
