does anyone know how to do this ? suppose, f(x)=2x-1 and g(x)=3x (f+g)(f(2))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You take the f(x) and g(x) equations and add them together thus you will get (2x-1+3x) which can simplify to 5x-1. Then you take the f(x) equation and plug 2 in for all the x's. Once you do that you will get 2(3)-1 which is 5. Then simply take (5x-1) and multiply it by 5. So you will get 5(5x-1). Then you expand it to get 25x-5. Do you have to find x then?

Then you can just set the equation to 0 to find x.
