Quick question what do I do with the 5 in the following equations to get it in terms of b^2? Find the verices and foci of the ellipse..... x^2/9 + y^2/5=1 The ellipse formula is x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1.

I know you simply take the 9 into 3^2, but what about the 5? I can do the problem beyond that point.

5 = sqrt(5)^2
