in your case, you have right triangle with (v) hypotenuse = 50, and angle = 120, and the legs are i and j, you can easily find them ,using simple trigonometry formulas.
ops, actually your angle will be 60, and remember your vector is in the left upper side of the plane
you are in the second quadrant of the xy plane so i will be -(cos(60)*50)=-25 and j will be +(sin(60)*50)=+43.30
