What is a prime polynomial. Can factorization still help to solve the quadratic equation if it is made up of a prime polynomial?

Given a quadratic polynomial ax^2 + bx + c it is prime whenever there are no integer factors of a*c that add up to b In this case to solve for x-intercepts you need to use quadratic formula (-b +-sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a
